Position Summary
Perform complete receiving function of all incoming materials and miscellaneous items. Perform delivery service function for materials throughout all areas of the plant. Unload, identify, count and check all items against packing slips. Process all orders for domestic, export and government shipments. Receive, count, store and issue products and materials. Maintain stock inventory records and locations. Pack finished product and component parts in accordance with specifications and procedures. Prepare product for parcel post, United Parcel, airfreight, and truck shipments. Assist truck driver in weighing and counting of sub-contracting material and loading and unloading company trucks as required. Operate company vehicles to pickup and deliver material (Non-CDL) as required. Activities may be performed in other departments.
Responsibilities
- Unload trucks, open bundles, boxes, and other containers of materials received. Weigh/count and check contents against packing slips, bills of lading, freight bills, and purchase orders for all incoming materials. Deliver items to and from appropriate departments or personnel as required.
- Assist truck driver in weighing and counting of outgoing sub-contracting material and loading and unloading Company trucks as required. Operate Company vehicles to pickup and deliver material (Non-CDL) as required.
- Move material to proper staging areas, including placing on conveyer, skids or pallets, or place in racks as required. Weigh cartons, remove from conveyer to skids or pallets, and segregate parts for shipment against sales orders, routings (WIP), or for storage. Inventory, order, and maintain locations of cartons and packing supplies. Complete all shipping forms and forward to the Shipping Office.
- Receive, store and issue products/materials. Adhere to cure date requirements, heat code requirements, and serial numbers where specified. Follow specified material handling procedures.
- Request information and process transactions with computer.
- Perform cycle count audits, updating and correcting as required. Evaluate discrepancies for cause. Weigh and tie parcel post, United Parcel, and similar shipments. Affix postage. Record all information on shipping log.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department any source inspections, including verifying cure dates for certifications as required.
- Drive sit-down and stand-up forklifts to perform various tasks.
- Pack, label, and ship hazardous material as required.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
