Job Description:

Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

The Production Fabricator 4 is the foundation for building and finishing aerospace furniture and monuments. They are responsible for producing and troubleshooting prototypes and the companies most complex components. They serve as the Subject Matter Expert and primary personnel to establish manufacturing process post First Article or Prototype. They support the team by training other assembly mechanics, providing input into business decisions- operational or sourcing. The Drive continuous improvement activity within the work center and identify new equipment to improve operational efficiency. Support development of work center operating standards in alignment to company and regulatory requirements.

Overall Senior Fabricator Responsibilities:
•tPartners with engineering, ME, planning to develop and execute part prototype design, and test plans
•tSetup and maintain test fixtures in alignment to test plan requirements
•tExecute test plans and troubleshoot setup to achieve successful execution
•tResponsible for the production of prototype and first article for the businesses most complex components
•tMastery of all shop equipment drill motors, pneumatic tools, band/chop saws, drill presses, sealant gun, planar/jointer
•tEstablish work center standard operating procedures
•tProvide input for make/buy decisions
•tLead continuous improvement activity to reduce scrap rate and increase efficiency
•tConsume electrical and structural part drawings to produce components as designed
•tTrain and mentor other entry to mid-level assembly mechanic shop personnel
•tProficient with Syteline or equivalent ERP system
•tEnsure completion of associated paperwork and job orders to support component shipment
•tOther duties as assigned.

Builder Responsibilities:
•tBonds hinge blocks into panels, set doors, drawers
•tJoin panels together creating seamless joints
•tMixes and weighs chemicals.
•tApplies adhesives and epoxies to materials.
•tBuilds drawers and cabinets on large monuments.
•tApplies and works with decorative finish on product.
•tLays out and cuts materials on the table saw.


Finisher Responsibilities:
•tMixes and weighs chemicals.
•tSand and trim to fit doors and large panels
•tProduces uniformity on pieces for aircraft ship set.
•tMonitors desired mill thickness of finish.
•tIdentifies and repairs imperfections
•tAbility to manufacture items needed for final assembly adjustments (shims, blocks, etc.)

Knowledge/Experience
•\tMust be at least 18 years of age.
•\tHigh School diploma or GED, required.
•\t7+ years experience in the consuming electrical and structural aerospace\\equivalent part drawings
•\t7+ years interpreting, authoring and executing assembly and component test requirements
•\tHigh level of mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or other equivalent industry

•\tCan work in a stooping, kneeling, or standing position and in cramped areas.
