Job overview and responsibilities

The Storekeeper is a working member of the Technical Operations Supply Chain Team.

• Perform work generally recognized as Storekeepers work in storeroom areas located in the maintenance bases and line operations including receiving, issuing, provisioning, checking, classifying, inventorying and storing of supplies, equipment, parts and materials.
• Duties also include opening, packaging and sealing of boxes and crates; heavy lifting, pushing and pulling, loading and unloading of trucks, carts and conveyors; transporting parts and materials between various locations, sorting and counting items; and fueling assigned vehicles.
• Is responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe work area and maintaining familiarity with operating procedures, general rules and regulations.
• Operate a variety of equipment with manual and automatic transmissions including forklifts, trucks, tractors, tugs, and electric carts.
• Work with hand tools, such as remote computer terminal sets, bag sealers, saws, mobile radios, shears, knives and staplers. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors where employees may be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions, noises and fumes, machinery and moving equipment.
• In the performance of duties, will climb and work from ladders, bend and stoop in confined areas, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Lift and carry medium and heavy weight materials and tools, and push or pull carts and other equipment to move parts and materials.
• Handle hazardous materials, flammable materials and/or hazardous waste.
• Travel for collateral duties and/or training.
• May work alone or with others as a team.
