Job Description:

The role of the Supply Chain and Logistics Controller is part of the Catering Supply Chain and Logistics team. It is to determine and execute a cost efficient and resilient supply chain and logistic operations to fulfil the requirements created by the demand and supply plan. Responsible for activities associated with inventory planning and selection of replenishment methods to meet the stock requirements at the DC and caterer level across the network. In addition to tracking the service level performance of service providers while balancing inventory levels and inventory turns.


In this role, you will:



•    Implement & maintain systems and procedures for planning inventory levels & replenishments through scheduling, requisitioning, and distribution of Inflight stock from suppliers to warehouses and/or caterers to ensure stock is available to support catering uplifts throughout the Emirates network.
•    Configure supply chain processes for efficiency by analysing, negotiating, and performance-managing suppliers to improve reliability and responsiveness to the supply chain and reduce SCM cost. Works with suppliers to educate them on Emirates’ requirements for on-time in full deliveries.
•    Measure Supplier Performance (SCOR) to contracted SLA’s to drive improvements in reliability, responsiveness & cost.
•    Audit contracted supplier locations to ensure agreed stock levels are held, and replenishment practices are in line with agreed service levels to ensure agile supply chain, managing volatility and fluctuations in demand with no impact on service levels on board flights.
•    Collaborate with 3rd and 4th party logistics service providers (3/4PL) services providers to meet timelines and improve SCOR Card metrics; reliability, responsiveness, asset turns, and end-to-end Supply Chain Management Cost.
•    Monitor service providers to ensure efficient import/export, distribution of catering stocks, best logistics techniques are adopted, and requisite Service Level Agreements are met.
•    Represent the Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, and Logistics deliverables and requirements continuously with stakeholders such as the internals team, 3/4PL service providers, and caterers across the network.
•    Support product launches, promotions, and ad-hoc initiatives through an understanding of integrated end-to-end Supply Chain and business drivers. Clearly articulate to the leadership risks and opportunities for projects, launches, products and geographies.
•    Identify needs, conceptualising and developing solutions through IT and Suppliers to optimise materials and information flow between different entities in the supply chain.
•    Contribute data to budget-building requirements for stock purchases, obsolete stock, write-offs, and logistics costs to meet operational requirements based on reports generated.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:


·         Hold a completed Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field combined with 12 years of relevant work experience. Of those, must be 5+ years of experience within the Airline / Catering / FMCG industries or Inflight Services/ Catering.


·         Experience in Supply & Logistics Management distribution.


·         Strong analytical and data modelling skills.


·         Robust knowledge and experience in inventory planning, and forecasting systems.


·         Experienced in managing budgeting.


·         Effective interpersonal and networking skills.


·         Project Management.


·         Certification from APICS or CIPS is preferable


·         Experience in managing a team would be beneficial.


You will have an edge if you have the following: 


·         Knowledge of Wine Varietals and Regions: The candidate should have an in-depth understanding of different wine varietals, champagne types, and their regional preferences (e.g., what’s popular in Europe vs. North America or Asia).


·         Food & Wine Pairing Skills: Understanding how different wines complement certain types of cuisine, which is crucial for pairing with in-flight meals.


·         Industry Trends Awareness and Regional Preferences: Awareness of global wine trends, emerging regions, and consumer preferences. The ability to align wine selections with the cultural tastes and preferences of passengers from different regions (e.g., selecting Bordeaux for European flights, Riesling for German routes, etc.).


·         Strategic Project & Promotion Planning: Capability to create and execute wine-related projects and promotions, such as seasonal selections or special promotions, while maintaining alignment with overall catering goals.


·         Cross-Departmental Coordination: Experience in working closely with catering and marketing teams, flight crews, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery and presentation of wines on flights.
