Position/Title: Technical Purchasing Specialist

Reports to: Manager of Technical Purchasing

Location: Eastern Airlines Headquarters

Shift time: 5 PM CDT to 2:00 am CDT (AOG Rotation Schedule)

This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are critical components of the position Technical Purchasing Specialist.

  1. General

This is a full-time position that will report to the Manager of Technical Purchasing. The Technical Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the routine and AOG purchasing of all type of aircraft materials. The position interacts with the Maintenance control on daily basis regarding their material requirements. The successful candidate will have a high level of integrity, teamwork, and good ability to use technology while working with the maintenance, warehouse and other company teams in a fast paced/dynamic environment.


C. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate parts requests for completeness and process them in timely manner.

  • Source and procure aircraft materials for Line or scheduled maintenance, station stock and support all part requests including AOGs

  • Track and Expedite orders to ensure on time delivery with all required airworthiness certificates and documentation.

  • Follow up shipments and routing of parts to ensure on time delivery

  • Record order and shipment status to ensure seamless handover between shifts.

  • Resolves PO and invoice related discrepancies.

  • Adhere to company policies/procedures per the GMM and FAA Regulations

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS office suite.
  • Able to effectively use technology (ERP system, inventory locator websites, supplier portals and SharePoint)
  • Two (2) years of purchasing / Material Planning experience preferably in the aviation industry
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills required.
  • Demonstrates excellent management, communication skills, professionalism, and positive customer service attitude without compromising quality.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
