Position Summary:

Level One: Level One: Level one tool room techs under direct supervision, are responsible for running tools to the shop floor, are familiar with tool logs, broken tool report logs, and insert logs. They will also demonstrate basic skills relating to inventory control, basic shop math including cutting tool geometry, and measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc., and validating tool specifications using a presetter based on correctly interpreting tool lists. Level one tool room techs may be expected to calibrate presetters as necessary. In addition, they will also demonstrate basic computer skills and the ability to work with digital logs, tool lists and reports as needed. Typically 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Issue tools to manufacturing area
  • Verify/ check job order priorities at each machining cell
  • Organize tools and manufacturing supplies inside tool crib area
  • Log in broken tool reports
  • Document work / daily reports

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to measure tool length and diameters
  • Ability to use the presseter
  • Ability to use basic computer skills
  • Basic Shop Math (Tool Geometry)

Required Experience:

  • Typically 0-1

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
  • Constant exposure to moderate noise
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
