Job Title: A&P Mechanic
Job Description
The A&P Mechanic will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on piston and turboprop aircraft, including Cirrus, Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, and Mooney models. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving airframe, powerplant, and related mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to ensure aircraft safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on piston and turboprop aircraft, including Cirrus, Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, and Mooney models.
- Conduct detailed aircraft inspections and identify discrepancies or “squawks” requiring corrective action.
- Troubleshoot airframe, powerplant, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems to determine root causes of issues.
- Carry out appropriate repairs and adjustments in accordance with approved maintenance manuals and procedures.
- Perform line maintenance tasks as needed to support day-to-day aircraft operations.
- Support heavy maintenance activities, including more in-depth inspections and component replacements.
- Work with turboprop systems, including PT6 and similar engines, when applicable.
- Use personal hand tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete maintenance tasks.
- Document all maintenance, inspections, and repairs accurately and legibly in maintenance records.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while working in and around aircraft and hangar facilities.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality maintenance standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills
- Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Hands-on experience performing aircraft inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Proficiency working on airframe and powerplant systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve aircraft discrepancies and “squawks” effectively.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to use personal tools and standard aviation maintenance equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
- Effective communication skills to work within a team of mechanics and technicians.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- General aviation maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience working on turboprop aircraft preferred.
- Familiarity with Cessna, Cirrus, Beechcraft, Piper, and Mooney aircraft is highly beneficial.
- Experience with PT6 engines and other turboprop platforms is a plus.
- Experience in both line maintenance and heavy maintenance environments is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when required.

Work Environment
This role is based in a busy hangar environment that is not climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. You will work alongside a team of approximately 13 mechanics, with the team continuing to grow. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, with a start time of either 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM and 8-hour workdays. The environment is hands-on and tool-intensive, with regular exposure to aircraft, ground support equipment, and typical hangar operations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrenceville, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
