Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled A&P Mechanic to join our team at Ontario International Airport (ONT). This part-time position is ideal for individuals with experience in general aviation, specifically working on turboprop aircraft such as the Cessna Caravan (208) or Cessna SkyCourier (408). The role involves early morning shifts from 0400-0800, Tuesday to Saturday, with the possibility of staying beyond scheduled hours to support departures or handle last-minute maintenance needs.

As an A&P Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet, maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance. Your ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments will be essential for success in this position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Aircraft Maintenance: Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on general aviation aircraft equipped with turboprop engines.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently to minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including logbook entries and airworthiness releases, in accordance with FAA and company regulations.
  • Emergency Support: Provide on-call assistance for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations as needed.
  • Operational Communication: Coordinate with Maintenance Control, station management, and flight crews to address maintenance requirements and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is completed safely, adhering to regulatory standards and company policies.

Work Schedule:

  • Shift: Tuesday to Saturday, 0400-0800 (potential for extended hours depending on operational needs).
  • Coverage Flexibility: Ideal candidates can commit to as many shifts as possible, but partial week schedules will be considered.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working on general aviation turboprop aircraft such as Cessna Caravan (208) or Cessna SkyCourier (408) is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge issued by the airport, including passing all associated background checks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and adapt to operational demands.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English for interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for airport badging to access restricted areas.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, with availability for extended hours when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
