Join Dassault Falcon Jet who is building a state of the art 54,000 square foot flagship Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Melbourne Orlando International Airport in Melbourne, Florida. Dassault Falcon Jet will serve customers across North and South America and beyond, the complex will accommodate all current Falcon models, (including the new, ultra-long-range Falcon 10X, the largest purpose-built business jet), and will be capable of performing major maintenance and modifications on up to 18 Falcon models.

Dassault Falcon Jet in Melbourne, Florida is seeking a full-time weekend (FRI-MON 7:00AM-5:30PM) Maintenance Crew Chief in 2025 who will be responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope and for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations performed under the authority of the FAA Certificated Repair Station. A shift differential of 8 will be paid for working the weekend shift. The Aircraft Crew Chief performs tasks and ensures tasks, within the scope of their normally assigned duties, are performed using established standards of quality and airworthiness.

MINIMUM REQUIRES QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possess FAA Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant rating.
  • Must have minimum fifteen (15) years experience with Falcon models.
  • Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months APU & Engine Run certification qualified on at least (1) Falcon aircraft model.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
  • Proven leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the Quality Control systems and procedures of the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual relative to the scope of their normally assigned duties and keep personnel assigned to their crew aware of the Quality Control systems and procedures relative to their assignments.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations and in particular, CFR parts 43, 91 and 145; and 135 as required.
  • Possess working knowledge of aircraft factory modifications, service bulletins, inspection program requirements, vendor information and all other procedures, publications and general information pertaining to aircraft.
  • Strong computer skills including Word processing, Excel spreadsheets and project management applications.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA Inspection Authorization
  • Associate degree in an Aviation field

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hangar and ramp environments with variable temperature range normal to Florida weather in the area. Melbourne hangar will be air conditioned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively lead teams with the Customer Projects Supervisor and Quality Assurance Inspector assigned to the aircraft to efficiently execute the aircraft work scope and communicate at all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Attend customer debrief meetings for all aircraft assigned.
  • Assigns maintenance technicians and Quality Control Inspector personnel on crews and from support shops to perform the tasks required by the work scope and monitors performance to plan.
  • Oversees the daily activities of assigned work crews taking necessary action to ensure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated labor and material costs
  • Drives the team for maximum efficiency and effective use of available resources including assignment of overtime as required and authorized and accurately charging labor hours to the appropriate Work Order Squawk
  • Assigns the tasks as required by the work scope with efficiency and to quality standards, paying particular attention to appropriately assigning tasks to the QC Inspectors
  • Ensures the use of applicable technical data, including but not limited to the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in the current manufacturers maintenance manual.
  • Ensures that personnel assigned to perform tasks are qualified to perform the task and identifies training requirements.
  • Monitors all work performed by the crew to ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and is airworthy.
  • Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the RSM/QCM
  • Provides for the shift turnover requirements as outlined in the RSM/QCM and establishes assignments to relieve crews.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned Customer Project Supervisor to achieve the on time and on budget objectives of the work scope.
  • Collaborates with the assigned Customer Projects Supervisor for work order squawk approval and authorization for overtime.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned QA Inspector to achieve aircraft approval for return to service.
  • Drives daily activities toward providing services and deliverables to the customer that meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Ensures that crews maintain good housekeeping practices by utilizing a 5S system of “Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain”. Take immediate action to maintain a clean safe work environment.
  • Insures that assigned crews follow adequate safety precautions and procedures, inspect equipment to ensure it meets company safety and OSHA standards.
  • Supervise a continuous safety program in their area of responsibility, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, housekeeping, and hazardous materials.
  • Maintains a focus on Human Factors in the workplace and drives to zero defects in workmanship and safety. Supports the Quality Issues Notification system.
  • Promotes and fosters an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed. Contributes to the annual performance evaluation of personnel assigned under their leadership. Monitors and documents employee performance throughout the performance period.
  • Contributes to the annual training needs assessment exercise required by the Repair Station Training Program
  • Supports the corporate mission and vision through achievement of department goals and objectives, contributes to process improvement and the development of strategies that improve customer service and the maintenance process.
  • Observes and administers company rules and regulations and safety policy and standard operating procedures.
  • May perform other duties as required.
