Adv Electrical Mechanic - 2nd Shift (Full Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Plan and perform a wide variety of complex electrical trouble shooting installation, and repair duties, including lay out, inspecting, testing, etc., to ensure proper installation of high voltage electrical and electronic equipment and systems. Maintain complicated plant electrical and electronic equipment to eliminate down time and maintain an uninterrupted flow of production. Works from complex schematics, blueprints, work orders, manufacturers manuals, plant lay outs, electrical codes, written /verbal instructions.
Plan and make modifications to complicated machinery, equipment and various systems in Piper facilities to tie in safety devices and interlocks and document changes for future reference, use the following tools, equipment, and materials in the performance of duties, electrician hand tools, electrical and electronic test equipment, measuring instruments, meters, soldering iron, probes, test boards, tachometers, pipe bender, presses, drills, routers, ladders, material handling equipment, etc.
Receive assignments and pertinent documentation from Planner Scheduler or Supervisor
Respond to trouble calls in an expedient manner
Communicate work ticket status to Planner Scheduler
Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Plan and lay out sequence of operation.
Operate material handling equipment
Test and verify that electrical systems are functioning properly.
Analyze and interpret customers description of trouble.
Diagnose trouble and determine its origin.
Notify Planner Scheduler if trouble is non electrical.
Plan and make modifications to equipment
Install and repair lights.
Install telephone and computer cables.
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electromechanical equipment and systems.
Maintain all records, files, and reports.
Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to a lead person.
Performs scheduled electrical Preventive Maintenance on equipment and machinery
Other duties as assigned by leadperson or supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May be required to train and assist other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires the use of specialized knowledge along with the ability to interpret drawings and/or blueprints; high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 5-7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience commensurate to a two year technical school.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Use of considerable judgement to plan and perform unusual work where only general methods are available and make broad decisions. Ability to effectively present information and communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Individual must be certifiable for a forklift within the first 90 days of employment.

Overtime is required when necessary.
