Job Description SummaryThis role is within the Commercial Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) Mechanical Design team in GE Aerospace’s Engineering Division. The team is responsible for the design and development of CMC components within the High-Pressure-Turbine (HPT) and Combustor Module of the GE9X and LEAP Commercial Turbofan engines.

As the Advanced Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and supporting projects focused on durability and fleet support for CMC HPT components. You will be responsible as an individual contributor to drive for design and manufacturing changes to meet program requirements, and you will organize and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design and analysis, materials engineering, data science, manufacturing, quality, and program management. You will need to implement lessons learned from other programs and new fleet findings into the next iteration of the component design. Other responsibilities for this role may include supporting component delivery efforts, assisting engine test assemblies, and improving component producibility through design and manufacturing changes.

Your technical expertise will be crucial in iterating on existing processes and design, while also providing mentorship to early-career individuals in engineering and manufacturing. In this position, you will have a considerate level of autonomy, which will require you to take ownership of the quality of your work and contribute input into setting your priorities. While executing tasks, you will need to assess your capabilities and seek guidance from your supervisor and technical mentors when necessary.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to make significant impact on the design and innovation of GE Aerospace’s products.
