Roles and Responsibilities:
Role Summary:
Weld various parts/components using different metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys and aluminum
Perform manual and/or automated TIG welding process on sheet metal and/or small diameter tubular parts
Set up welding machine and make adjustments according to work instructions/weld schedule
Prep parts for welding using work instructions, blueprints/drawings, etc.
Work to tight tolerances to meet dimensional requirements of product prior to and after welding using part specific methods, fixtures, and gages
Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
Work with ME/Weld Engineers to solve any weld related issues
Acquire certifications and perform special process inspections such as weld/macro, solder, dimensional and leak test operations
Perform various other duties in the department as needed such as media blasting, prepping, drilling and disassembly of product, etc.
Work flexible hours/overtime as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
Actively participate in a teaming environment that uses lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
Basic written and verbal communications skills
Pass Weld Certifications per NADCAP requirements
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specs, etc.
Proficient mechanical aptitude and use of various hand tools and visual aids including measuring devices such as calipers, dial indicators and/or borescopes
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
High School diploma or GED
Subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations as required
Technical/Vocational training in TIG welding and/or 3 years TIG welding experience

Degree/certificate in Weld Technology/Metallurgy
Aerospace/Aircraft welding background
