Job Description:
Position Summary The Aircraft Inspector in Macon, Georgia is responsible for inspecting and determining the airworthiness of aircraft, systems, equipment, and parts in compliance with specifications and government regulations. This role includes performing pre-flight and post-flight inspections, ensuring accurate completion of all inspection forms, and working from approved drawings, FAA Regulations, or other specifications. Job Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft inspections, verifying and controlling specific documentation according to the inspection process.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with control processes.
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed on all completed work following internal procedures and FAA requirements.
  • File work orders and inspection forms to allow prompt location by the Chief Inspector.
  • Conduct preliminary, hidden damage, inspection continuity, and final inspections on items repaired.
  • Review inspections on aircraft and components to monitor the quality of work and adequacy of standards and equipment.
  • Perform occasional/random work package audits to ensure documentation maintenance in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Conduct “self-audits” of internal quality systems and audits at the request of the customer.
  • Assist the Chief Inspector in analyzing and interpreting quality data to develop methods, procedures, and systems to improve Quality Assurance functions.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as directed by the Chief Inspector.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education:
  • High School/GED
  • Desired: A.S. degree in Aviation
  • A&P License
Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience as an aircraft A&P Mechanic.
  • Prior experience as an Inspector with aerospace quality systems that meet FAA requirements.
  • Experience working with and interpreting precision measurement instruments.
