Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Mechanic 3 (APG and AVI) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Orland Air Station, Norway.
Job Description
Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on military aircraft.
Supplies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems.
Ensures aircraft are in exceptional mechanical condition and safe for flight by performing maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements on all aircraft systems in accordance with technical data and all applicable program and service guidance.
Performing duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, fiber optic, coaxial cable, and electrical components on aircraft.
Performs and/or assists with Field-Level Modifications and TCTD maintenance actions.
Assists with On-the-Job Training (OJT) for team members and customer aircraft maintenance personnel.
Maintains and updates aircraft records and status.
Keeps the production staff updated on aircraft status.
Performs other duties as assigned by maintenance supervision.
Maintenance tasks include configuring aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, various system operational checkouts, and egress system maintenance.
Technical requirements also include fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with modifications and restoration of aircraft to flying condition after accomplishment of modifications and/or maintenance.
Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
Conduct maintenance operations in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by governing regulatory documents to include tool control, quality, safety, aircraft maintenance documentation, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 Years hands-on military aircraft airframe, powerplants, and/or air vehicle systems maintenance experience.
Must be able to provide historical training records and/or certificates detailing completion of aircraft technical training courses and all aircraft task qualifications.
US Air Force Red X certified 5 or 7-skill level, US Navy/Marine Corps CDI/CDQAR, or equivalent FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License.
Ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprint drawings.
A current Secret or higher Clearance.
Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance, as required.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Able to meet the physical demands of this position, including regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. (The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist).
Preferred Qualifications:
8 Years of hands-on tactical military aircraft Airframes/Powerplants, Avionics, and/or Crew Chief Experience.
5 Years of experience exercising privileges of US Air Force Red X certified 5 or 7-Level, US Navy/Marine Corps CDI/CDQAR.
Completion of F-35 basic and advanced technical training courses including, but not limited to, Tactical Aircraft Maintenance, Combined Avionics and Electro – Environmental, Aviation Machinist’s Mate, Fixed-Wing Aircraft Mechanic Training, Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician, and Advanced Technical Training (ATT).
Salary Range: $57,200 - $95,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
