GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Tyonek Services Group is providing full on-site / off-site maintenance flight/Functional Check Flight operations to support the US Army Flight Test Directorate AFTD at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The support will be conducted in accordance with current Army directives, including but not limited to, AR 95-1 and AR 95-20.
- Areas for support to be provided include aircraft maintenance, completion of all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and management of internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records.
DUTIES:
- Responsible for assisting the Aircraft Mechanic in ensuring that the aircraft and their equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Performs primarily as a member of the aircraft tow team, but may assist in the jacking of aircraft and disconnecting instruments, ignitions systems, and fuel and oil lines.
- Assists the Aircraft Mechanics in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing and hydraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections.
- Perform routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic, lifting and holding materials in place during operations, cleaning work area, machines, tools, and equipment, cleans aircraft interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions.
- Inflate tires, fill gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs and grease aircraft using grease fun.
- May assist flight line mechanic, worker or servicer in servicing and repairing aircraft prior to flight.
- Use STAMIS logbook system and other computer based technical manuals.
- Maintain on time schedules for assigned projects.
- May be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must have a maintenance background
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must currently have or be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to learn additional computer skills/software programs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff including interactions with other crew members.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

- May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft. Must be able to travel to and between remote locations in austere and/or hostile environments.
