Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • Performs inspections, maintenance, modifications, and repairs IAW OEM and military service guidance on avionics, electrical, and instrumentation systems and subsystems. Shall perform troubleshooting, maintenance repairs, component installation, and modifications in a hangar and flight line environment in support of customer requirements.

DUTIES

  • Complies with written maintenance and logistic procedures and policies.
  • Complies with FAA regulations as applicable.
  • Performs such tasks as replacing components, repairing wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment.
  • Conducts testing and troubleshooting using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, ohm meters, bonding and milli ohm meters.
  • Experience with Druck Pitot static system and operation. IFR 4000-6000 series test sets. TIC and other brand ramp test sets to include transponder interrogators, NAV, VOR, ADS-B, and communication systems.
  • Required to read blueprints, build wire bundles, install wire bundles, use electronic test equipment, prepare aircraft for flight line inspection, troubleshoot aircraft electronics and determine courses of action for fault isolation/correction. Requires the ability to test instruments and maintain onboard circuitry.
  • Perform maintenance, authorized modifications, and operational checks on equipment.
  • Repair, replace, and perform operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, electrical, and controlled cryptographic equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have completed technical or military aircraft avionics, electrician, or armament electrician maintenance course.
  • Must have 5 years direct experience in avionics maintenance and flight line troubleshooting to include post maintenance operational checks.
  • Beechcraft King Air and military rotary-wing experience (preferred)
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) (preferred)
  • Must be able to supply common personal tools to perform duties.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
