The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and modification tasks related to C-Checks and VIP Modifications of 787-9 aircraft. This role includes completing maintenance activities and removing, replacing, or repairing all aircraft systems except for Avionics and Interiors, which are managed by dedicated teams.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify, replace, or perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized areas of the aircraft.
• Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data.
• Complete on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and required reading.
• Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, and other specifications to determine feasibility and methods of repair, replacement, or modification.
• Conduct operational tests.
• Remove and install flight control surfaces and components.
• Perform weight and balance calculations including flight control surfaces.
• Perform rigging and operational tests of all flight control surfaces including autopilot.
• Troubleshoot flight control systems.
• Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify structures and flight controls.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures.

• 4+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on a variety of systems.
• Experience with aircraft maintenance, flight controls, A&P, aircraft systems, and rigging.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.

• Experience with 787 aircraft is highly preferred.
• Military experience is acceptable.
• A&P certification is preferred.

Work Environment

The shift runs from 0600 to 1430, often extending until 1630 on all days except Friday when it closes at 1430. The workweek typically includes 50 hours or more, with occasional opportunities to work on Saturdays and Sundays.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
