Job Title: Aircraft Structures Mechanic (Iwakuni)Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join our team at the Marine Corps Air Station in Iwakuni, Japan. This role involves performing O-Level Corrosion control on 5th generation Fighter Jets (F-35 Aircraft), conducting inspections, coordinating maintenance efforts, and ensuring the timely return of aircraft to mission capable status.
Responsibilities
- Perform O-Level Corrosion control on 5th generation Fighter Jets (F-35 Aircraft).
- Conduct Outer Mold Line (OML) inspections, coating system repair, and corrosion control inspections.
- Coordinate maintenance efforts with the Maintenance Operation Center (MOC).
- Plan and coordinate shop workload, dispatching personnel as required.
- Ensure the use of adequate technical data during all phases of aircraft maintenance.
- Monitor the status of aircraft and coordinate efforts with subordinate personnel and MOC.
- Review QC reports and implement corrective measures to improve maintenance quality.
- Conduct inspections of aircraft and system maintenance to ensure quality and completeness.
- Annotate maintenance actions in aircraft records and document in ALIS.
- Review training products for accuracy and schedule personnel for required training.
- Assist in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components.
- Review aircraft and equipment records to ensure required maintenance is performed.
- Plan and coordinate wash, PMB, and paint schedules.
- Establish and maintain a sound corrosion program, inspect completed work, and evaluate employee performance.
Essential Skills- Current secret clearance.
- 1+ years experience on fifth-generation fighter jets (F-22/F-35).
- Structural and corrosion control experience.
- Experience in CDI and CDQAR roles.
- Crew Chief experience with supervisory skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with F-35, F-22, F/A-18 Super Hornet, and F-16 aircraft.
- Skills in riveting, bucking rivets, drilling, and removing/replacing fasteners.
- Experience in corrosion control, corrosion prevention, and sheet metal repair.
- Ability to annotate maintenance actions in ALIS documentation.

Work Environment
The position is based at the Marine Corps Air Station in Iwakuni, Japan. You will work a 40-hour week with shifts starting at 0730 for day shift and 1530 for night shift. The work involves a structured environment where safety, tool control, and proper disposal of materials are prioritized. The dress code includes appropriate attire for aircraft maintenance work.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $67000.00

- If traveling from outside of Japan, your initial travel lodging and flight cost are paid for a solo traveler for hire.

- Able to participate in the companys retirement plan following 90 days of service in accordance with company policy.
- One solo employee annual round trip fare back to the United States following six months of employment. Travel is in accordance with S&K travel policy and arranged through your upline and must be preapproved. Use of accrued PTO is allowable to cover the absence, not to exceed two weeks.
