Job Title: Structures Mechanic- Per Diem Pay: $166/day per diem + $31.25/hour (total comp $52/hour), up to 5 days per diem, OT $56/hr
Job Description- Working in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment, the Structures Mechanic will disassemble, repair, fabricate parts as necessary, reassemble, install, and document maintenance actions on heavy-lift helicopters, primarily Boeing CH-47 airframes (Model 107, Model 234 firefighting and heavy lift utility). This role primarily supports full rebuilds and sometimes supports fleet heavy maintenance checks.
Responsibilities- Review task cards, read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to remove, inspect, fabricate replacement parts, repair, reassemble, and document maintenance actions.
- Perform frequent removal and installation of standard and blind rivets.
- Drill, ream, and rivet to close tolerance with attention to detail.
Essential Skills- 4+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal structures repair.
- Experience fabricating parts.
- Proficiency in using basic and specialty sheet metal tools.
- Willingness to submit to testing, including installing a dozen fasteners of different types, proper countersink depth and precise drilling, and performing two bends with an understanding of Bend Allowance or Bend Deduction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience repairing structures of CH-47 airframes preferred.
- Must be a US Person per client ITAR regulation.
Work Environment- Work in heavy lift helicopter fleet MRO and rebuild hangars. Initial schedule is a 5-day work week (8am - 4:30pm) for several weeks, then transitioning to a 4-day work week (6am - 4:30pm) with shifts either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.
