Job Description:
- Perform a variety of professional mechanical/aerospace design engineering tasks of a conceptual design, detailed design, analysis, or development nature of Solid Motor Propulsion, Controllable Solids Propulsion, and/or Air-Breathing Propulsion field.
- Performs entry-level professional engineering assignments under close supervision and following established policies.
- The position requires some professional judgment and a limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts.
- Applying theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of basic analytical engineering problems, correlates and analyzes data, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or procedures.
- Assisting in preparation of reports, presentations and documentation. 10 - Follows established/standard policies and procedures on details of work and makes preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- With continuing development and experience, receives more difficult problems and supports more complex work. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor and other professionals in the assigned section or group.
- Performing a variety of engineering tasks that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the engineering staff and Aerojet Rocketdyne programs, methods and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- An advanced engineering degree is a plus.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with CAD software tools is desired (PTC CREO preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems is strongly preferred (aerospace, automotive, aircraft or machinery).
