Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Aviation Maintenance Planner reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for the planning, scheduling and the demand for aircraft modifications, operations and assembly; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as required.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for schedule development, monitoring, updating, analysis, tracking and reporting.
Maintains the priorities and monitors the schedule performance for the operation.
Responsible for scheduling the operation timetables for each step of the operation process and ensures the proper materials are available.
Takes the lead role in presenting additional facilitations resolution of planning and scheduling issues with other departments by problem solving and expediting issues that could delay or alter schedules.
Takes the lead role to avoid unnecessary schedule changes to maintain stability of the operations schedule.
Creates the master Operations schedule to establish the Operations lead time in order to meet completion dates determined by planning management information.
Maintains the Master Schedule and presents the overall schedule status and performance of the schedule to management as needed.
Maintains the operations schedule of delivery for accuracy and ensures that the schedule abides by the company’s processes and procedures and/or customer requirements.
Conducts and interacts with the customers and management as the operation evolves to provide recommendations and solutions as it relates to the schedule.
Assists in the operational improvements (automation, set-up reduction, formal quality programs, scrap reduction, lead-time reduction, etc.).
Will be responsible for setting up and facilitating manpower planning, loading, hangar loading planning.
Will be responsible to interact at multiple levels within the organization.
Responsible for ensuring data and all reports are delivered accurately and on-time to the internal and external customers.
Will provide the Director of Operations an integrated view of business to include Government services and aircraft services.
Coordinate with Operations Management and Industrial Engineer to develop finite Operations schedules for the Completions business through sequencing work.
Coordinate with Master Scheduling, Operations Control, and Supply Chain Management to plan material flow to Completions cells.
Monitor progress and identify deviations to schedules or schedule metrics to ensure plans are executed, milestones met and timely corrective action taken.
Develop schedule reports to meet specific wee-defined requirements within key departments such as Paint, Flight Delivery Center, and Avionics.
Produce metrics to assess Operations plan and schedule effectiveness; identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
Develop executive level presentations.
DIMENSIONS
Currently leads and manages the planning and scheduling of the Operations processes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field is required or experience in lieu.
Must have 5 to 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling is required.
Experience in lean operating methods and continuous improvement processes required.
Must have strong project management skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving experience required.
Must be able to focus on key tasks, prioritize duties, and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
Proficient Microsoft Excel and Project skills are required.
Exceptional communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.
Working Environment
: The working environment is corporate office facility. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
