Job Title: Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Description
Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft structural components in a Part 145/MRO environment. This role focuses on sheet metal repairs, structural work, and landing gear assemblies while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble aircraft structural components
- Perform sheet metal work including patching, riveting, and fabrication
- Support landing gear disassembly, inspection, repair, and rebuild
- Interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Install and replace defective or worn components
- Document all maintenance, inspections, and repairs accurately
- Use tools and testing equipment to ensure proper function and compliance
- Follow FAA, OSHA, and company safety/regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines
Essential Skills
- 3+ years (Level II: 3–5 years / Level III: 5+ years) in aviation sheet metal/structures
- MRO or Part 145 repair station experience required
- Strong sheet metal repair and structural fabrication skills
- Experience with commercial aircraft (Boeing, Airbus, or similar)
- Landing gear experience preferred
- Ability to read technical manuals and troubleshoot structural issues
- Proficiency in basic computer systems for documentation
- Ability to pass FAA drug test and compliance check
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with aircraft modification and repair station processes.
- History in aircraft sheet metal fabrication and structural assembly.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques specific to airframe and structural systems.
- Comfort working with a variety of aviation platforms and configurations.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, inspectors, and team members.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple projects in a fast-paced MRO environment.
- Interest in long-term employment with potential for contract-to-hire conversion based on performance and attitude.

Work Environment
Air-conditioned MRO/back shop setting (not line maintenance) on a Monday–Friday, first-shift schedule (~7 AM–4:30 PM), with overtime as needed. Hands-on role working with aircraft structures, sheet metal, and landing gear using standard tools and technical documentation. Strong focus on safety, compliance, and teamwork in a professional shop environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $64480.00 - $91520.00/yr.
