Job Description:

Western Aircraft has multiple immediate openings for experienced Aviation Sheet Metal Technicians in Boise, Idaho. 

Job Summary  

  • Inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft using test equipment and hand tools, as needed, to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.   

Duties & Responsibilities   

  • Learns and/or performs routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft
  • Performs structural repairs and modifications
  • Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of maintenance work
  • Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor
  • Meets or beats flat rates for most of the assigned tasks
  • Understands and follows all safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner
  • Responsible for completing training syllabus for advancement to next level
Job Requirements:

 

Qualifications & Job Requirements   

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in general aviation preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years’ performing structural repairs and modifications with Sheet Metal
  • Experience working with composite materials a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Sheet Metal assembly techniques required
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics required
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow directions
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Airframe Certification preferred OR needs to be willing to obtain this certification within 6 months of hire if not already certified

Other Prerequisites

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in an aircraft hangar or production environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Constantly requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes such as bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and turning to pick parts. Must have ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. and 25 lbs. overhead.
