JOB OVERVIEW
The Avionics Assembler/Installer (A/I) will work on the repair, installation, modification & inspection of electrical & electronic components and materials. They will assemble components & materials which include wiring harnesses, sensors, electrical racks & instrument components.
The Avionics (A/I) is responsible to assist in the wiring shop as well as on heavy maintenance/modification projects within his/her appropriate skill and ability level, in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with the KF Aerospace maintenance manuals and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Maintenance: The Avionics (A/I) works under a Lead in the wiring shop and Shift Lead on heavy maintenance projects, which involve:
- Responding positively to work direction from Leads or AME’s
- Working cooperatively with other members of the team
- Taking initiative to work to full capabilities
- Showing ability to retain information and apply learning’s to similar situations
- Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Taking responsibility for quality of own work & fixing mistakes where required
- Reporting to the Lead any unserviceable condition discovered
Demonstrated Technical Skills: The Avionics (A/I) is expected to be able to demonstrate his/her capability to perform the following technical functions:
- Basic knowledge of Standard Wiring Practices
- Able to find & read applicable wiring diagrams
- Good knowledge of tooling, shop equipment, and safety procedures
Safety: The Avionics (A/I) is expected to apply safe work practices in all job duties, including:
- Wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment
- Understanding and applying the company’s Risk Management System
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards
- Understanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraft
Documentation: The Avionics (A/I) is responsible to become familiar with general KF Aerospace paperwork and parts ordering, which involves:
- Ensuring appropriate documentation is complete for their work & submitting to the Avionics Shop Lead for approval
- Sourcing required technical information in maintenance manuals in an accurate & timely manner as required
- Utilizing the services of Stores & Tool Crib in a professional & efficient manner to obtain required supplies & tooling
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic systems asset, but not required
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely with basic hand tools
- Demonstrated organizational skills & attention to detail
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Good oral & written communication skills
- Able to take direction from others
- Quick learner
- Must be physically fit
HOURS OF WORK
This is a Monday to Friday shift position, but employees may be required to work afternoons or weekends based on business requirements
