Job Title: CASS Component Analyst
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: CASS Manager
SUMMARY:
Responsible to the CASS Manager for performing operational data analysis, which continually analyzes and surveys the effectiveness of the 10 elements of the Maintenance Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for compliance with CASS Department processes. Must identify any changes that will further the continuous improvement of departmental processes and will submit recommended policy and procedure changes to the CASS Manager for approval.
2 The CASS Component Analyst will perform a Preliminary Root Cause Analysis on all
components, which exceed the alert level each month and present to the Reliability Steering Group (RSG).
3. Act as the focal point for tracking the progress of each Root Cause Analysis and report the status to the RSG as key milestones are achieved. Track and record all actions and milestones associated with component alerts.
4. Maintain the Component Monthly Alerts matrices for each specific fleet type, part
numbers and part codes of all Ratable component removals into the Component Removal
Monthly Rates database.
5. Execute Component Removal Monthly Rates database run to identify component
removals, which exceed the Alert Level and do not meet their Performance Standards.
6. Seek out and monitor Emergency Evacuation System (EES) components for defects or failures. Perform a Preliminary Root Cause analysis on all EES failure events.
7. Identify Ratable component removals which display characteristics of a Rogue Unit.
8. Consult with Technical Experts to gather information and perform Final Root Cause
Analysis, Corrective Action, and Follow-Up Plans for presentation to the RSG for Alerts
which are selected by the RSG for in-depth analysis.
9. Present alert findings from items 1, 2, 5, & 6 above to the CASS Data Coordinator for inclusion in the monthly CASS Maintenance Report and CASS/RSG briefing slides. Brief the negative findings to the RSG for corrective action.
10. Must identify to the CASS Manager any changes which will further the continuous
improvement of departmental processes.
11. Be familiar with all phases of component analysis and all phases of operational data
collection and reporting for which he has responsibility.
12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Control or CASS
Manager.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A two-year college degree in Aviation, Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Airframe or Power Plant License preferred.
- Experience and knowledge with component management and reliability
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills of computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point software required.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of statistics, able to research and use analytical skills.
- Attention to detail, communication, and presentation skills to work with all levels across the company.
- Experience and understanding of regulatory compliance of regulations, manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Strong ability in written/oral communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write detailed analysis reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Intermediate ability to conduct basic mathematics; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Intermediate ability to convert between different units of measure. Intermediate to advanced aptitude to perform statistical formulas and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
