SUMMARY:
Calibration Technician shall be responsible to the Manager QA for the actual performance of specific instrument calibration, evaluation and reporting of calibration results and data entry of calibration results into calibration tracking database according to written instructions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing the calibration of precision measuring and other tooling required in accordance with ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc. RSQCM 6.7.
- Maintaining the calibration control database for tooling under calibration control, add and update data as received from Receiving, Shops or Tool Room.
- Maintaining a file of all calibration certificates for tooling maintained under calibration control.
- Generating and distributing calibration recall notices in accordance with RSQCM 6.7.
- Generating and distributing calibration expiration notices in accordance with RSQCM 6.7.
- Periodically performing inventory and condition audits of calibration-controlled tooling assigned to the various shops / departments including the Tool Room.
- Expanding calibration capabilities when determined to be in the best interest of the repair station.
- Developing revisions to calibration system requirements based upon continuous improvement and regulatory requirements, including DWIM and RSQCM, and submitting them for approval.
- Implementing approved revisions to calibration system requirements from RSQCM and DWIM as required providing continuous improvement and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Performing additional duties as required by the Manager QA.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge or the ability to acquire skills in the following:
Experience with and the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel and be familiar with SAP database software. The ability to be organized and detail oriented. The ability to perform quality work using precision measuring tools and instruments to obtain established goals and higher productivity. The ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, by presenting ideas and giving instructions/guidance to subordinates, co-workers, supervisors and outside agencies in a manner that instructions are carried out and requested information is obtained. The ability to delegate and prioritized work effectively and creatively.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Climate controlled environment.
SUPERVISION: The incumbent normally performs the duty assignment at his or her discretion and is limited only by policies set by administrative or legislative authority. Total end results determine the effectiveness of job performance.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A strong level on interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship among employees, various departments, management and the public.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Essential responsibilities are performed in a climate-controlled working area but are not limited to this area only. Must be able to cope with stress and mental exhaustion due to the pressures of accomplishing set goals, meeting short deadlines, maintaining numerous projects simultaneously, employee confrontations and long work hours.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Must have graduated high school or obtained GED. 2 years college or trade school preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year previous experience in a metrology lab or equivalent environment is preferred
