Job Description:
Chief Inspector Responsibilities:
  • Reports to DOM
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities within the Inspection Department and plans activities in conjunction with other departments
  • Assists with the development of inspection standards and compliance procedures
  • Assists with reporting of Malfunctions, Failures and Defects (MFD), Mechanical Interruptions (MIS), Self-Disclosures and Service Difficulty Reports (SDR) to FAA, as demanded by FAA regulations
  • Manages the accuracy and retention of all Maintenance and Inspection records, for all work performed on Sky One Holdings aircraft
  • Manages Maintenance Training program and Maintenance Training record keeping
  • Ensures MELs are kept to latest revision
  • Manages the GMM revision process and submits same to FSDO for acceptance
  • Manages team of inspectors and administrators to ensure compliance with GMM and regulatory requirements
  • Develops audit standards for permanent records
  • Compiles audit findings in SMS and manages findings to root cause and develops solutions to prevent repeat of findings
  • Manages team responsible for vendor training and conformance to Sky One Holdings maintenance standards and policies
  • Performs conformity inspections on aircraft going onto Sky One Holdings Ops Specs and ensures aircraft on Ops Specs remain in conformance with Sky One Holdings  and regulatory requirements
  • Develops training modules, techniques and programs to ensure department activities are properly conducted and documented
  • Promotes Safety Management System (SMS):
    • Allocates resources to sustain risk management activities.
    • Identifies and evaluates safety hazards
    • Takes action to eliminate hazards or reducing risk to an acceptable level
    • Investigates accidents and serious incidents
    • Adopts appropriate best industry practices
    • Promotes aviation safety including the exchange of safety-related information

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Graduate, Bachelor Degree (preferred)
  • 5 years inspector experience preferably as a Chief Inspector of equivalent.  Familiar with FAA Part 135 maintenance operations.
  • FAA Licensed A&P; with inspection authorization (IA)
  • Working knowledge of standard pc word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
  • Requires excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and Company requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple departments in a fluid operational environment
  • Ability to manage employees within the guidelines and policies of the Company
