Job Title: Assembler C - Fuel Cell Mechanic
Job DescriptionSeeking an Integral Fuel Cell Mechanic to support the team based out of San Antonio, TX. The role involves the removal and reinstallation of structural brackets, supports, vents, tubes, and component assemblies in aircraft fuel tanks, among other duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform dry capacity checks.
- Conduct FOD free inspections prior to tank closure, fuel tank leak repairs/leak checks, and drain/air purge fuel tanks.
- Perform fuel system maintenance and pressurization checks as required.
- Perform Resistance Measurement and Seal installations to support fuel systems.
- Conduct fuel tank maintenance safety tasks, including clearing the aircraft when applying electrical power, using grounding safety devices, performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.
- Defuel and refuel aircraft as required.
- Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals.
- Read and follow technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
- Provide troubleshooting knowledge, inspection, repair, modification, replacement of aircraft fuel components and systems, and follow-on operational checks.
- Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy reporting efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal, and rigging.
- Conduct landing gear operations checks, door rigging, and servicing of aircraft.
Essential Skills- 2+ years of experience working as a fuel tank aircraft mechanic.
- 2+ years of experience reading schematics, technical data, and work instructions.
- Ability to fit and work inside fuel cells.
- Respirator use required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with Depot Level/General maintenance procedures.
- Experience reading and following technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
- Familiarity with performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.

Work Environment
Candidates must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds. Exposure to noise and elevated platforms is frequent. Personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms is required. Candidates must pass visual acuity and color perception tests, handle hazardous materials, and maintain training certifications as required. The role involves occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation, frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs), frequent walking, standing, and balancing, occasional climbing, and exposure to noise. Ability to work various shifts and/or alternate baseline schedules, including weekends and holidays, is required. Both scheduled and unscheduled overtime may be necessary.
