JOB DESCRPITION
Under general direction, is responsible for repairing, maintaining and installing all types of electrical systems for production equipment, support equipment, and facilities. Ensures work performed is in compliance with National Electrical Code and OSHA regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examines work orders and talks with equipment operators to identify equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
- Studies blueprints, schematics, manuals and other specifications to determine installation procedures and/or modifications.
- Inspects new parts to determine if they meet work order specifications.
- Operates equipment to demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions.
- Tests faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment and software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of mechanical and electronic units and systems.
- Troubleshoots, determines the causes of operating errors, and resolves issues with electrical controls, servo controls (AC/DC), and inverters.
- Repairs machines or systems using the proper tools. Must have the ability to bend conduit, solder connections and make wire diagrams from scratch.
- Has a basic understanding of PLC systems and makes minor repairs/programs, read ladder diagrams, factory manuals and schematics
- Installs equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications.
- Ensures any wiring of new and rebuilt equipment complies with National Electrical Code and OSHA regulations.
- Maintains plant safety and housekeeping standards.
- Complies with all environmental safe practices and regulations.
- Provide assistance to interdepartmental personnel; machinists, re-builders and mechanics. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Plans and executes work with limited supervision
- Has basic understanding of and can make minor repairs/programming on PLCs, Allen Brady SLK 500, Microview Programming.
- Performs visual inspection
- Researches information and keeps updated on electrical and NEC regulations, local and federal Uses diagnostic equipment, such as amp probe, volts meters, ohm meters, transistor, and capacitor checker.
- Uses inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, magnifying glass.
SKILLS/EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
- Journeyman’s Card preferred, but not required
- 3 to 5 years related experience in an industrial capacity
