Position Purpose:
The Aircraft Technician II performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs on aircraft systems and structures of moderate to advanced complexity, under minimal supervision. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations and company quality standards, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of aircraft. The technician coordinates closely with team leads, the inspection department, and other departments to maintain schedule integrity and ensure high-quality work.
 
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate and a minimum of two (2) years of aviation maintenance experience.
  • Alternatively, four (4) years of aviation maintenance experience, including at least two (2) years working on mid/large size aircraft, is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Work Communication & Assignment Understanding:
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and inspection personnel to receive, understand, and execute work assignments.
    • Perform complex inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft with minimal supervision, ensuring all work adheres to internal and FAA requirements.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Coordinate with MTL (Maintenance Team Lead), STM (Supervisor of Technical Maintenance), and the Inspection Department to ensure all maintenance tasks comply with FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
    • Accurately complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely and correct manner.
    • Assist with shift turnovers to ensure continuity of work.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all work performed on aircraft meets the required quality standards and specifications, both internally and in compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Customer Property Handling:
    • Properly identify, tag, and store customer property and equipment, ensuring that all aircraft components and other property are stored securely and safely.
  • Ground Support Equipment Operations:
    • Follow standard operating procedures when using ground support equipment such as external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, and compressed gas cylinders.
  • Aircraft Movement:
    • Coordinate and assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas, ensuring the safe and efficient relocation of aircraft.
  • Training & Mentorship:
    • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced technicians, assisting them in acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge for the role.
  • Customer Property Protection:
    • Actively protect customer property (PTP) during maintenance and repairs, ensuring that all equipment and parts are handled with care.
     
    • Additional Functions:
      • Waste Disposal & Shop Organization:
        • Properly collect and dispose of waste materials such as fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
        • Apply Lean and 6S principles to maintain clean, organized, and uncluttered shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas.
      • Continuous Improvement:
        • Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all maintenance activities, identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall quality of work.
      • Tool & Equipment Maintenance:
        • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, returning items to their designated storage areas after use to ensure availability and safety.
      • Safety Compliance:
        • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, using appropriate protective equipment as required. Identify and address unsafe conditions proactively to mitigate risks to personnel and property.
      • Material Tracking & Documentation:
        • Use the material tracking system to create parts demands, track squawks, sign-offs, and charge labor to correct work orders, ensuring accurate and efficient documentation of tasks.
      • Aircraft Certification & Testing:
        • May participate in aircraft certification processes and final phase testing, including flight tests on aircraft as required.
      • Other Duties:
        • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management to support the team and ensure aircraft maintenance and schedules are met.
         
        • Other Requirements:
          • FAA Regulations & Company Policies:
            • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times.
          • Physical Requirements:
            • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
            • Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
             
            Work Environment:
            • The role involves working in aircraft hangars, maintenance areas, and on the ramp, with potential exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used to ensure safety.


            Pay Details: $32.19 per hour
