The GM Caribbean Maintenance shall assist the Director of Maintenance with ensuring compliance with regulations and a high level of safety, quality control, and efficiency within the maintenance department in the USVI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform complex aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications.
- Provided AOG coverage.
- Ensures the aircraft are properly cleaned and maintained in order to operate in a highly corrosive environment.
- Assists maintenance personnel in the procedures, methods, and practices to be followed in each respective duty.
- Performs training of the maintenance personnel.
- Supervises the maintenance activities including inspection, overhaul, aircraft modifications, and repair of structures, engines, and accessories.
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
- Properly complete work order sign-offs and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensures parts are properly allocated to a work order.
- Assists with maintenance tracking and compliance.
- Assists with keeping the required aircraft maintenance records in current status and in accordance with the applicable regulations.
- Hold and utilize an Inspector’s Authorization as necessitated for work completion and in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide on-call maintenance coverage.
- Ensures that the aircraft will return to service in a timely manner.
- Ensures the hangar and ramp area workplace are safe, organized, and a proper environment for the tasks at hand.
- Ensures that the parts required for a project are on hand or have been ordered.
- Schedules and manages maintenance personnel for the Virgin Islands in accordance with the DOM’s set parameters.
- Ensures staffing meets the needs of the operation and all hours have been approved by the DOM.
- Oversees management and organization of all spares and tooling on site.
- Ensures all spares and tooling are accounted for and secure.
- Tracks all work hours to ensure they are logged in accordance with the company/department
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
The GM Caribbean Maintenance must hold an A&P Certificate, along with an Inspector’s Authorization, and be knowledgeable of aviation safety standards and safe operation practices, CFRs, and LIMA NY Corp.’s GOM and Operations Specifications.

The work hangar and ramp environment may include loud aircraft and machine noise, where hearing protection is required, hot temperatures in the summer, and cold temperatures in the winter where applicable clothing/protection may be required. There may be instances where heavy parts and machinery must be lifted but done so in a manner and/or with assistance from others or with lifting equipment to ensure the employee is not strained or injured.
