National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriages worldwide. Reports To: Manager, Maintenance Programs & Heavy Maintenance Planning
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Responsible for the planning of aircraft heavy checks and validating the requirements of that specific aircraft. Provides maintenance proposals for bids on aircraft heavy checks that meet the requirements of the maintenance organization and the respective Inspection Program. Identifies services or materials as required for the check and to meet company requirements, ensuring the appropriate tasks are included in the Heavy Maintenance Visit work package.
Essential Functions:
- Participates in the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Responsible for working with Various Departments to schedule and support A-Checks and above.
- Works with Line Maintenance Planning to ensure that items that may not make the next heavy check are addressed and do not overflow.
- Review maintenance next-due reports to create work orders and work packages for aircraft A-Checks and above.
- Review task cards and properly plan for the requirements of tasks being assigned to work packages.
- Effectively performs work to meet deadlines and performance goals in accordance with company policies & procedures.
- Performs all duties in compliance with the General Maintenance Manual, Company policy, and all applicable regulations, including proper completion of paperwork and forms related to the assignment.
- Works in conjunction with many other departments and requires good communication skills.
- Maintains work areas, and materials in a clean and safe condition.
- Accountable for quality of work performed, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, Maintenance Programs & Heavy Maintenance Planning, or Director of Quality.
Qualification & Experience:
- 2 years of aircraft maintenance planning experience preferred.
- Associate degree in aviation and/or FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant rating preferred.
- 2 years of aviation maintenance experience is preferred.
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Have or be able to obtain a valid US Passport. May be asked to travel domestically and internationally.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards.
- Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Must have a positive attitude.
- Must pass a background check which includes a pre-employment drug test, fingerprinting and criminal history records check (CHRC)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Team player with strong work ethics
- Ability to use technical manuals, good mechanical aptitude, and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to learn and adapt to existing maintenance system WinAir and then to learn and adapt to a new computer system AMOS.
- Computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

- Office
- Work shifts may vary – Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Effort:
- Moderate physical activity is required by handling objects up to twenty (20) pounds frequently and/or twenty to seventy (20-70) pounds occasionally.
