Position Summary:

The maintenance planner is a critical contact point for maintenance, production, and management personnel concerning the operational status of the facility. It is this individual’s responsibility to keep themselves constantly aware of the plant’s operational capabilities and to keep the rest of the organization informed of any limitations that could be placed on the operation of the plant.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Facilities Manager on all matters relating to the predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant equipment under the planner’s cognizance.
  • Plan all maintenance (planned, predictive, and corrective) for plant equipment in the planner’s area of cognizance.
  • Plan work performed by contract personnel on the plant site within the areas of the planner’s cognizance.
  • Interface with the Operations Departments on a regular basis through daily and weekly planning meetings keeping them informed of upcoming maintenance requirements and keeping abreast of planned equipment downtime.
  • Interface with maintenance management personnel and crafts persons on a regular basis to ensure the smooth flow of maintenance tasks and as a prelude to the planning and scheduling of future maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain the CMMS system for all equipment in the planner’s area of cognizance.
  • Collect and analyze data to support preventive and predictive activities and to track KPIs.

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or technical certification and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of heavy industry mechanical systems including CNC machines, High Pressure Hydraulics, furnaces, and Grit Blasting equipment.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS system a plus
  • Basic computer skills: data management and analysis; word processing; spreadsheets, email and internet.

Working Conditions:

  • Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
  • Constant exposure to moderate noise
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
  • Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
  • Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane.
  • Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
  • Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
