Position Summary:
Level two maintenance technicians perform basic preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency maintenance on all equipment. Basic understanding of fabrication and welding; good communication skills a must in reading, writing, and verbalizing, calipers, and basic shop math. Typically, 3-6 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Correctly interpret work orders
• Work in a team environment, i.e., follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Perform basic facility maintenance tasks.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical processes.
• Ability to determine repairs needed for future corrective maintenance work.
• Perform basic non-load bearing welds using mig or stick welding.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required.
• Perform other duties as requested by the lead, supervisor, or manager.
Required Skills:
• The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals…
• The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
• The ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers, calipers, comparators.
• The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents – basic computer skills.
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions.
Experience & Education:
• 3 to 6 years of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required.
• GED or High School diploma required.
Working Conditions:
• Constant exposure to indoor / outdoor manufacturing environment
• Constant exposure to moderate noise
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
• Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials.
• Must be able to safely operate an overhead crane, boom lift and manlift.
• Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
• Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all the required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government contracts.
