Essential Responsibilities :
Executing 3D Mechanical design intents with an understanding of requirements, performance and assessing the operational environments.
Responsible for executing on our predictive analysis assessments, influencing recurring product costs, stress/thermal performance, material selections and electrical creepage and clearances assessment.
Support product testing and lab work, to reinforce technical decisions, design intents and product risk mitigations.
Able to work within a team of mechanical engineers to develop complex assemblies, liaison with the electrical and systems engineering teams to deliver electromechanical solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements :
• BSc/MSc in Mechanical & Thermal/Structural Engineering or materials science related degree from an accredited university/college or similar level of knowledge / experience.
Desired Characteristics :
Basic experience in creating innovative, complex mechanical designs for new product development, preferably in a safety critical environment. Aviation ideally, however medical devices or other regulated industrial applications will be considered.
Experience of product design and development activities embracing design for manufacture, value engineering and comfortable working in a highly collaborative teams using a variety of data management systems (Windchill/Teamcentre PLM solutions)
Strong awareness on using 3D modelling software preferably Siemens NX, an awareness of ANSYS thermal and structural packages. Including Apriori, Granta and AutoCrear applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a willingness to occasionally travel.
