Job Summary
RADA USA is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts and provide technical direction at the platform and system level. The candidate would be involved with the design, fabrication, and modification of mechanical and / or electromechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. This includes mechanical analysis, thermal, fluid systems, mechanical packaging, or others. Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production / customer requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigate solutions to product or process problems.
Your immediate focus will be on a system that powers and cools a high-power radar array, the integration of the subsystems and the packaging / delivery method of such system to the field.
Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems based on customer specifications and requirements
Lead and drive development teams from design through assembly
Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
Participate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals
Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and budget for internal and external stakeholders
Ability to complete a technical project independently
Build trust and form solid relationships with different stakeholders (customers, internal departments, vendors)
Mentor and coach other engineers
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience
Active security clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance
Management or demonstrated leadership experience required
Understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design
Be able to work well in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects
Ability to coach, mentor and build relationships internally and externally
Solid knowledge of 3D CAD Systems such as SolidWorks
Experience in leading and participating in meetings to discuss project execution, schedules, technical performance, and provide recommendations for improvements, as appropriate
A well-spoken leader, with strong collaboration skills and desire to drive technology advancement in product design
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The expected pay scale for this position is $113,385/year - $176,031. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and spanet and business considerations.
