Mechanical Engineering - Fall 2025 CoOp/Internship
Parker Hannifin is looking for an Engineering Intern to support our Manufacturing Innovation Center team, focusing on implementing the latest technology and innovative products into our automation and controls machinery implemented across Parkers many manufacturing sites.
This position is based in Wickliffe, OH for the Fall 2025 Semester. This position requires the selected candidate to be onsite 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Design and build electrical control systems for testing technology and products
- Program and test robots and robotic manufacturing processes
- Work closely with senior engineers to develop advanced vision systems
- Contribute to development and test of automated manufacturing systems
- Support control system design and safety reviews
- Create/update electrical drawings and schematics
- Create custom reports and documentation
- Review/create Bills of Material for projects
- Work with production teams to understand needs, requirements, and specifications
Qualifications
- Education: Undergraduate student, Sophomore status or higher, currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Academic Performance: Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Mechanical Design Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical designs, drawings, and schematics, with a focus on engineering principles.
- CAD Proficiency: Ability to use AutoCAD or similar CAD software to create detailed drawings and models.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with reading and interpreting mechanical schematics and engineering documentation.
- Hands-On Experience: Preference for involvement in hands-on projects that apply mechanical engineering concepts.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Control Systems Exposure: Some knowledge of PLCs, control systems, programming, or robotics is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Self-Motivation: Demonstrated personal motivation and discipline to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Problem-Solving Ability: High level of independent thinking and resourcefulness to develop and propose effective solutions to engineering challenges.
- Project Documentation: Ability to provide organized and comprehensive summaries and detailed information on project elements for updates and reviews.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate and interface effectively with various levels of staff, including engineers, management, and production teams.
- Task Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
