What Will You Be Doing?
The Manager, Heavy Maintenance Planning has overall responsibility for the efficient planning of heavy maintenance visits (HMV) and special maintenance visits (SMV), not limited to aircraft inductions, lease returns, engine changes, major modifications, and any other maintenance event as directed by Maintenance and Engineering department leadership. The Manager, Heavy Maintenance Planning reviews, develops, and modifies (as required), both long-term and short-term forecasted aircraft planning and maintenance schedules using a sliding window basis considering the following: availability of staffing, required tooling, equipment, parts and materials, skillset, and hours necessary to complete the assigned task. Must clearly and efficiently communicate and coordinate as required with the following groups: Heavy Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Inspection, Engineering, Materials, and Purchasing to ensure execution of plans in support of maintaining regulatory compliance, aircraft reliability, and operational performance metrics.
Essential Functions
- Evaluate and modify, as required, all existing planned maintenance events to be accomplished by both Frontier Airlines maintenance personnel and/or approved maintenance providers.
- Manage and oversee plans of all HMV and SMV events.
- Oversee and evaluate the long-term plan for HMV and SMV for sequencing and optimization.
- Evaluate, trend, and analyze task yield, labor, ground time, and routine and non-routine workload to maintain and achieve span and budget targets.
- Manage a planning team to ensure clear responsibilities are in place, that each team member understands. Implement daily and long-term goals for the team and ensure effective communication through calls and stand-up meetings to coordinate activities.
- Assist with budget preparations for the Heavy Maintenance Planning department.
- Administer and manage all departmental self-audits.
- Help set up, audit, and maintain the online maintenance planning system in the FMIS to include training, technical knowledge, and practical instruction for Maintenance Planning
- Plan and schedule work compliance on all EOs (Engineering Order), EAs (Engineering Authorization) and FCDs (Fleet Campaign Directive) issued by Engineering.
- Manage and maintain Planning department rosters and vacation schedules to ensure proper shift coverage is protected and maintained.
- Ensure that department personnel, including this position, are properly trained, qualified, and current to perform assigned tasks and in accordance with company manual requirements.
- Participate in continuous briefings of daily fleet-wide mechanical status to members of management.
- Facilitate communication between teams in the organization to efficiently problem solve collaboratively

Qualifications
- Required - FAA A&P license and/or 5 years of relatable aviation experience.
- Required - 5 years of Heavy and/or Line Maintenance Planning experience.
- Required - 2 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated skills in this area.
- Required - Experience with maintenance planning software or software related to planning/scheduling maintenance.
- Preferred - Bachelors degree in aviation management, business administration or similar discipline
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven ability to plan, organize and administrate workloads to direct reports.
- Working knowledge of airline maintenance operations and technical knowledge of aircraft and maintenance programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite, FMIS (TRAX or similar Mtce Information System), Sabre products or similar Operational Control System.
- Capable of handling confidential material with discretion
- Ability to foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Work Environment
This is an operational position requiring shift work and may require some overtime. Job is located within headquarters offices but may require working at the Hangar and Line MX on occasion.
