As part of continued growth, our aerospace client based in Wolverhampton, are currently recruiting Level 2 NDT Inspectors to operate within the High Lift department. The primary function of the role will be Penetrant Testing and or Radiographic Testing of welded aerospace components.
Principle Accountabilities:
Perform NDT Inspection of machined components:
1 position will be tasked with Penetrant Testing/magnetic particle.
1 position Radiographic Testing.
Identify and report any issues related to product safety, and support any investigations related to product safety.
Create detailed part specific technique sheets.
Perform daily system process tests and equipment checks as specified in the applicable department procedures.
Declare non conformances when detected.
Assistance in quality control systems and investigations (non-conformance reviews).
Support continuous improvement deployment through active participation on Lean Events, Workshops and Continuous Improvement activities.
Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the local EH&S procedures.
Have a thorough understanding of the radiation safety procedures.
The successful candidate will be qualified and certified to EN4179 Level 2 in Penetrant Testing and Radiographic Testing, with the primary role of performing NDT on welds. Previous experience in Penetrant Testing and Radiographic Testing is preferable - evidence of previous training and experience should be provided.
The candidate will also be capable of, and prepared to provide practical on-the-job training of trainees and apprentices, covering the following topics:
- Health & Safety (including Radiation Safety).
- Process Control Checks.
- NDT Process.
- Documentation.
- Operator Self Inspection (OSI) responsibilities.
Basic Skills:
- Visual Acuity and Colour Perception.
- Motivated and Confident.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of Excel
