Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) on aircraft engines or components. Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser shearography, and magnetic particle. Requires certifications in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations. Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related non-destructive testing experience.
  • Candidate must meet and be able to prove OJT hours necessary for certification to NAS-410 in the following methods.
  • Current NDI Level II Certification in PT (Penetrant) in accordance to NAS-410
  • Current NDI Level II Certification MT (Magnetic Particle) in accordance to NAS-410
  • Current NDI Level II Certification ET (Eddy Current) in accordance to NAS-410
  • Current NDI Level II Certification UT (Ultrasonic) in accordance to NAS-410
  • Current NDI Level II Certification RT (Radiographic) in accordance to NAS-410
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access
Preferred qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • CR – Computed Radiography
  • IRRSP card (Industrial Radiographer Radiation Safety Program)
  • BT – Bond Testing
  • Phased Array UT and ET
  • Low Frequency ET
Salary Range: $54,400 - $90,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
