What Will You Be Doing?
The Planner, Heavy Maintenance, is responsible for forecasting, planning, scheduling, and coordinating heavy maintenance visits (HMV) and special maintenance visits (SMV), not limited to aircraft inductions, lease returns, engine changes, major modifications, and any other maintenance event as directed by Maintenance and Engineering department leadership. The Planner, Heavy Maintenance will compile workloads and plans for detailed short & long-term planning and maintenance schedules for all aircraft on a sliding window basis while considering the availability of personnel, tools, equipment, parts, materials, employee skills, and the hours necessary for accomplishment to maintain regulatory compliance and supporting aircraft reliability and operational performance for Frontier Airlines.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain long- and short-range maintenance plans and schedules.
- Create, audit, and maintain work packages.
- Coordinate and facilitate Pre-Dock meetings with all Frontier and contracted maintenance vendor facilities regarding the scheduled HMV or SMV workloads.
- Coordinate and maintain communications with material and purchasing teams to ensure required parts and materials are available for the scheduled maintenance events.
- Engage with appropriate subject matter expert (SME) to define the labor, skill set, materials, parts, tools, equipment, facility, and span time requirements for each deferred maintenance item.
- Review the lease return schedule to determine the required EOs before the return.
- Schedule work of time-controlled parts and repetitive inspections to be performed during HMV or SMV
- Collaborate with Line Maintenance Planning to plan and schedule all engineering orders (EOs) and Fleet Campaign Directives (FCDs) for timely compliance.
- Coordinate and schedule with outside Vendors to accomplish repairs outside a maintenance facilitys capability.
- Assist in ensuring that department personnel, including those in this position, are properly trained, qualified, and current to perform their assigned tasks.
- Be a resource for Heavy Maintenance and Line Maintenance Planning teams, share experience, make process improvement recommendations
Other Functions
- Perform research and data entry work related to the records of maintenance activity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, Heavy Maintenance Planning
Qualifications
- Required – 2 years Heavy or Line Maintenance Planning experience.
- Required - Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance program and aircraft routing.
- Required - Experience with maintenance and planning software related to maintenance forecasting and record keeping.
- Preferred – FAA A&P license.
- Preferred – College degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintaining Excel and planning database software
- Ability to work under time constraints, operational pressure, and deadlines.
- Must be detail oriented and independently accurate in executing duties.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including thorough record keeping.
- Strong aircraft maintenance knowledge and understanding of Maintenance Planning concepts (understand and explain maintenance tasks)
- Excellent communicator / Critical thinking

Work Environment
This is an operational position requiring shift work and may require some overtime. Job is located within headquarters offices but may require working at the Hangar and Line MX on occasion.
