Job Description SummaryAs a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Mechanics and Design Organization, you will work with the research and engineering teams in the design, analysis, testing, and validation of aerospace gas turbine engines components.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Execute research projects that aim to increase the performance and durability of components and structures in aerospace engines
- Execute with ownership tasks related to the design, analysis, and testing of rotating machinery components and systems including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation.
- Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with other scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and test new techniques for enhanced durability of aero-engine parts.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mechanics
- Experience with design, analysis (including finite element analysis) and testing of rotating machinery components (e.g., shafts, bearings, dampers, couplings, seals, gears)
- Strong analytical skills
- Execution mindset and sense of urgency.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a global team environment.
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong fundamentals in areas related to mechanics of solids, dynamics, machine design, numerical methods, tribology and wear or durability testing
