Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Oversee and occasionally perform the assembly, disassembly, rework, and re-assembly of electro-mechanical products throughout the product development phase
- Distribute and monitor NPI build assignments on the shop floor
- Prioritize assignments based on directives set by the PDL leader
- Ensure all activities in relation to the NPI build process meet our established QMS standards
- Communicate periodic progress reports to the PDL leader and functional managers as required
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering to initiate plans for tooling and fixtures, to address disruptions and stoppages, and to identify opportunities for improving drawings, task plans, work instructions, and other supporting documentation as applicable
- Support both Electrical and Mechanical engineering functions as permitted by internal NPI work standards.
- Provide training and mentoring to all assemblers, production assemblers included, to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery
- Enforce the upkeeping of engineering assembly workstations, tools, and equipment per internal applicable standards
- Understand, comply with, and enforce all established safety rules and regulations
- Engage and participate in a self-directed teaming environment
- Communicate shop floor materials status to the site leader to prevent shortages/disruptions
- Support lean initiatives in an effort to optimize productivity on the engineering shop floor
The role has some autonomy and is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Required Qualification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- IPC-A-610 Certification
- J-STD-001 Certification
- IPC-7711/7721 Certification
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering assembly experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Exceptional aptitude in processing prototype related activities
- Complex disassembly/re-assembly skills using tools & gages, advanced op sheets & drawings
- Good level of knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Dexterity skills, good hand & eye coordination
- Effective communication skills (written and oral)
- Efficient problem-solving skills
- High sense of urgency and understanding of priorities with minimal guidance
- Basic computer skills
