The salary range for this position is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.
Job Overview:
As a Production Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of aerospace parts throughout the manufacturing process. You will inspect, measure, and verify parts to ensure they meet stringent aerospace industry standards and specifications. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will directly contribute to the success of our operations and the safety of the products we create.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Process Inspections: Perform visual and dimensional inspections on aerospace parts during and after production to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Use of Inspection Tools: Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, Hite Gauges, etc. to measure critical dimensions and ensure parts meet design specifications.
- Blueprint and Drawing Review: Review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure product quality standards are met and production aligns with design requirements.
- Non-Conformance Identification and Reporting: Identify and document defects, non-conformities, or deviations in parts and report them to the Production Manager for timely resolution.
- Collaboration with Production and Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineers and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions to improve processes.
- Compliance with Industry Standards: Ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations and quality management systems, including AS9100, NADCAP, and other relevant certifications.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain detailed inspection records and reports for traceability, continuous improvement, and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance production efficiency and quality by identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; AS degree in Manufacturing, Quality Control, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in quality control or production inspection, ideally within the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards, such as AS9100, NADCAP, or equivalent.
- Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, Hite Gauges, etc.).
- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operator experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to perform calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and dimensional analysis.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure that production meets quality standards.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or similar certification.
- Experience with CAD software (is a plus) and other inspection-related tools.
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
