Position Summary
Location: Parker Aerospace Group-DSD-Irvine, CA
Job Designation The Quality Inspector Lead is responsible for the organizing and tracking of receiving, in-process, test and final inspection activities. Assigning inspection tasks to Inspection personnel and providing assistance in resolving problems and/or questions.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Coordinates the assigning of tasks to Inspection personnel for performing mechanical, visual, and first article inspection of machined parts, castings, forgings, gears, complex precision parts and complex precision assemblies to determine precise conformance to drawings and specifications.
- Performs and verifies compliance to acceptance test procedures.
- Performs and/or verifies compliance to acceptance test procedures.
- Performs, assists and organizes others performing in-process inspections and government specifications.
- Performs source inspections as required.
- Performs and/or coordinates the calibrating of in-house tooling and gauges, including record keeping and coordination of outside calibration vendors.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or GED required. Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related fieldYears Experience: 8+ years of relevant experienceSkills:
- AS13001 and 5 years DQR experience required
- Must be able to work from and assist others in the reading of complex blueprints and inspection specifications.
- Must be able to perform AS9102 FAI and other inspection tasks/as back-up to the other inspectors.
- Must be able to perform, organize and manage the customer delegated source inspection activities.
- Must be able to provide verbal and/or written instructions with a minimum of supervision.
- Must have good working knowledge of military and commercial specification, particularity ASME Y14.5M dimensioning and tolerancing, non-destructive test methods and trigonometric.
- Must be able to use and assist others in the use of standard inspection measuring equipment and make proper inspection setups from drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions with minimal supervision.
- Solid knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance and ability to act as a resource for colleagues
- Experience in Military/Aerospace Industry is a must.
- Machin shop experience preferred.
- ASQ Mechanical Inspector professional certification preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as spanet and business considerations. Pay Range: $29.90/hour- $44.90/hour
