Job Description:

Responsible for the operation of the maintenance department

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing the policies and procedures necessary to meet the maintenance and inspection needs of the repair station.
  • Ensure compliance with those policies and procedures by all repair station personnel.
  • Coordinating with VSC personnel and administrative officers to determine the minimum qualifications for repair station personnel, hiring procedures, salary structure, performance appraisal procedures and dismissal procedures.
  • Provide adequate equipment, materials and competent, qualified personnel, as necessary, pertinent to the operation of the repair station, in order that it may comply with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulation and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Provide qualified personnel to plan, supervise, perform, and approve for return to service the maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations performed under the repair station certificate and operations specifications.
  • Ensure it has a sufficient number of employees with the training or knowledge and experience in the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations authorized by the repair station certificate and operations specifications to ensure all work is performed in accordance with CFR 43.
  • Determine the abilities of its noncertificated employees performing maintenance functions based on training, knowledge, experience, or practical tests.
  • Ensure that all repair station housing, facilities, and equipment are properly maintained.
  • Direct, plan, and lay out details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation
  • Regulations and manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Ensure that repair station personnel are trained in accordance with the Personnel Training Program found in the RSTM.
  • Maintain a current roster of all management, supervisory, and inspection personnel.
  • All other duties as may be required.
Job Requirements:
  • A & P Licensed
  • 3-5 years 14 CFR 145 repair station experience.
  • Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulation under 14 CFR 145.
  • Experience inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools appropriate for the work being performed and approved for return to service.
  • Computer literate and documentation skills.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
