Draken is searching for an experienced Weapons Technician to maintain F-16 A/B models at the Romanian Air Force (RoAF) F-16 Training Center at the 86th Air Base, near Borcea, Romania.  These aircraft will be used to train RoAF pilots.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs repair and reclamation and maintenance support functions. 
  • Responsible for maintenance being performed on the armament/fire control/weapons systems and electrical/avionics components as directed. 
  • Diagnoses and repairs aircraft systems and components malfunctions including solid state and transistorized devices according to the appropriate technical manuals, directives and safety procedures. 
  • Performs aircraft maintenance actions, authorized modifications and alignment of weapons components, fire control, electronic and mechanical devices, and instruments. Uses common measuring tools necessary for performing the tasks described herein, precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures. 
  • Handles any aircraft ammunitions, performs weapon system loading/unloading, arming and de-arming, and weapon subsystems configuration changes for all weapons and fire control systems. 
  • Performs aircraft systems operational checks. Test, troubleshoots, and repair aircraft systems test sets and diagnostic equipment. 
  • Prepares aircraft maintenance forms and records. 
  • Displays proper use of all applicable technical publications, tools, test equipment, and special equipment applicable to the discipline of aircraft weapons maintenance, ensure practices lead to becoming effective Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment maintainers. 
  • Ensures all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner. 
  • Performs end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Detects and advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft, removed components and related aerospace equipment. 
  • Uses technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems. 
  • Interprets/advises on maintenance procedures/policies to repair aircraft, parts and equipment. Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes, installs and operationally checks aircraft components. 
  • Maintains, rebuilds and/or overhauls aircraft components per technical data. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED  
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English 
  • At least 5 years of experience in aircraft weapons maintenance.
  • Must have working knowledge of aircraft safety directives, aircraft/vehicle movement, flight line operations, aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications (read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings and technical orders) 
  • Obtain/maintain Secret security clearance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT  

  • Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds 
  • Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
