Job Description SummaryThe military engineering group at GE is expanding its finite element analysis capabilities and is in need of an onsite US based analyst with 10-15 years of experience in a full time FEA role to assist in the design of the next generation of military propulsion.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years experience in design engineering
- Ability to work onsite in Evendale, OH
- Ability to acquire an active US Government Clearance
Desired Characteristics
- 10+ years of full-time engineering experience in a finite element analysis role
- Extensive experience in Finite Element Analysis Software such as ANSYS, Altair Hyperworks, NX SimCenter, Solidworks, Abaqus, or similar dedicated programs
- Ability to scope and lead projects containing engineering requirements that require finite element analysis and leading a team of others to successful completion.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
