General Summary: With advanced knowledge and high developed skill sets inspect, service, repair and troubleshoot aircraft airframe and structural systems, composites, and components, on a variety of aircraft according to manufacturer’s specifications, company-approved procedures, FAA regulations, and customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Accept full ownership to direct the assigned structural projects from pre-planning to delivery of aircraft. Following all policies and procedures, especially the Quality Control Manual, and will ensure the safety and security of customer’s equipment, parts and aircraft during all structural repair and modifications phases.
- Accurately interpret and read aircraft blueprints/modification drawings, coordinating necessary resources, personnel, documentation, and communication, including management, to ensure timely completion of quality structural repair and modifications for delivery
- Support, mentor, and teach structural repair and modifications projects by providing skilled labor and utilizing structural repair techniques, as directed by the Service Structures Crew Chief, on a day-to-day basis for compliance and quality performance. Required to understand and use approved compliance-appropriate technical data from authorized engineering sources, FAA approved documentation and original equipment aircraft manufacturers’ maintenance & compliance documentation.
- Capable of performing, maintaining, and timely aircraft and project documentation. This documentation will include but is not limited to reviewing various reports to ensure accuracy of project billed labor hours, goal hours, discrepancy documentation and sign-offs on an as required basis. Ensure correct parts postings and maintenance manual documentation for assigned structural projects and review work order documentation discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate entries and appropriate sign-off language and customer billings.
- Inspect, service, repair, and troubleshoot aircraft-related structural systems and structure discrepancies utilizing approved procedures, policies, and the appropriate Original Equipment Aircraft Manufacturers’ Maintenance Manuals. Mentor and train junior technicians of lesser component knowledge.
- Support and insure compliance with OJT documentation to promote growth and development of self and assigned structure team member in order to develop advanced skill sets and promote team cohesiveness and trust. Encouraged to participate in personal and leadership development opportunities and demonstrate competency, leadership and professionalism at all times.
- Support, maintain, and comply with all environmental, health and safety, federal, OSHA, state and local regulations.

Job Specific Requirements:
Licenses:
Airframe Certificate required and Power plant Certificate preferred.
FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
Must obtain and retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue stamp for Structures)
Competencies: Must be willing to manage a team with both experienced technicians and mentor junior technicians with a calm demeanor.

Must possess excellent mechanical aptitude and a desire to initiate improvements with in defined boundaries
Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs, occasionally lifts up to 100 lbs
Stands for long periods of time, with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling and stooping
Uses hands to reach and feel, with repetitive motion and vibration
Good finger dexterity
Reads, writes, speaks and understands English fluently
Visual acuity correctable to 20/20
Works in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, heights above six feet, noisy environments and flying
Works with and around products and materials associated with aircraft maintenance, structural repair & modifications
Other:
Ability to attain & retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
Occasional overnight and short notice travel
Regularly scheduled attendance required
Maintain a tool inventory which satisfies shop requirements.
Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as directed
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalency degree required.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, 145.
Three to Five years aircraft maintenance with emphasis on Structural Repair and Modifications required.
