JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for Mechanical maintenance and repair on Commercial Aircraft types.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Crew Chief shall be responsible to his/her Supervisor / Manager for the overall operation of his/her crew.
- The Crew Chief duties shall be assigned / reassigned by his/her Senior Crew Chief / Manager.
- Provide on-the-job training and technical assistance to his/her crew.
- Evaluate the performance of personnel on his/her crew and make recommendations as necessary to his/her Senior Crew Chief.
- Perform only that work authorized by his/her Senior Crew Chief and ensure that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship required by ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment used by his/her crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
- Recommend to his/her Senior Crew Chief any requirements or improvements for his/her crew.
- Exercise control over stock checked out of Stockroom by employees on his/her crew.
- Report to his/her Senior Crew Chief, with any recommendations, ant personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within his/her crew.
- Recommend disciplinary action within his/her crew.
- Assist his/her Senior Crew Chief as requested in the evaluation of non-routine work cards for parts, man hours, and span time and indicate correction action.
- Monitor, continuously, work progress.
- Keep his/her Senior Crew Chief apprised of the status at all times, particularly on jobs that are off schedule.
- Assist his/her Senior Crew Chief in preparation of the shift status and change-over reports.
- Perform any work that may be assigned by his/her Senior Crew Chief.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Has obtained & demonstrated all skills required of a Sheetmetal Technician.
- Ability to read, interpret, plan and work from complex SRM’s, Blueprints, SB’s, AD’s, EO’s and EA’s.
- Ability and willingness to assist, guide, train, oversee and evaluate others
- Ability to evaluate jobs to prescribe corrective action along with providing man hour estimates / span time needed to accomplish tasks while identifying / requisitioning parts, materials, tooling, etc. required to complete these jobs.
- Attentiveness / knowledge of aircraft schedule and assigned job budget along with ability to schedule work to maintain both.
- Knowledge of MCS time system and ability to monitor employee’s times for accuracy. Ability to communicate with internal groups (Planning, Materials, Fab, etc) concerning aircraft tasks.
- Ability to communicate with Customers, Engineering, etc concerning aircraft job tasks.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS: A high level of interpersonal skills is required
to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, co-workers and
management.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around all sections of
the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems.
Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be able
to lift 50 lbs. and report to work regularly.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED
CERTIFICATION: Airframe license and/or Repairman Certificate
EXPERIENCE: 4 years heavy commercial aircraft maintenance, heavy commercial aircraft maintenance in the Structures field required
